The Studio

Every piece created in the Grey Oak Workshop Studio begins with an idea, a conversation and exceptional timber.
The pieces shown throughout these pages represent completed commissions and studio works. They are intended to illustrate the character of the workshop rather than define the limits of what can be made.
Many clients choose a design they have seen here and then make it their own. A keepsake box may become larger or smaller, a sliding lid may become hinged, mitre joints might become dovetails, different timbers may be selected to complement a particular interior or commemorate a special occasion, and personal engraving or other bespoke details can be incorporated where appropriate.
The same philosophy extends across the entire Studio collection, from keepsake boxes and watch boxes to furniture and other handcrafted objects.
Our aim is not to produce identical pieces, but to create work that reflects the individuality of both the timber and the person who will own it.

If you have an idea, however well formed or simply the beginning of a thought, we would be delighted to discuss it with you.
