Gloucester Garden Office Building
This garden office in Gloucester is gradually taking shape, with plenty of measuring, cutting and fitting along the way. One of the pleasures of a project like this is seeing individual pieces of timber become a building, particularly when the care taken over each joint begins to pay off.
The British weather has, of course, taken an interest in proceedings. Work carries on through the rain where possible, although considerably more tea is required!
I am also working on a separate house extension project at the moment, so there is plenty to keep me occupied. It is good to have the opportunity to show the variety of work that goes on at Grey Oak Workshop, from smaller handmade pieces to buildings you can actually sit inside.

Features

There is a good deal of preparation involved before the structure begins to emerge. Each cut and connection needs careful thought, and I enjoy this part of the process as much as seeing the finished result. Time spent getting the details right now makes all the difference as the building comes together.
I also like sharing photographs and videos of these stages. They give a better sense of what goes into the construction, including the work that may be less obvious once everything is finished. There is something rather satisfying about watching a piece of timber being cut to shape, even if it takes a little longer than the average social media video allows!
There is still more to do, and I will be sharing further photographs as the garden office develops. For now, it is a pleasure to see it taking shape, one carefully fitted piece at a time.
If you are considering a bespoke garden office or timber building of your own, please get in touch. I would be very happy to hear your ideas and discuss what might be possible.
